Human-Centered Information Systems

The department of Human-Centered Information Systems is led by Prof. Dr-Ing. Michael Prilla.

"We examine the work, learning and behavior of people in order to support them with appropriate IT tools. The focus is on human factors which includes multiple (individual) factors and constraints that influence the way people act and develop. Our work not only includes research in design and use of computer technology with foucs on the interfaces between user and computers (Human-computer-interaction) but also the support of the collaborative work of groups (computer supported cooperative work and collaborative learning)."

This work takes place across different application areas. We have developed focal points in which we are currently active:

  • Human-Machine-Interaction
  • Computer Supported Cooperative Work
  • Cooperation und Reflection at work
  • Augmented Reality
  • Ubiquitous Computing Lab
  • IT in healthcaresystem
  • Ambient Assisted Living
  • Serious Games
